Advantages
Drying air is supplied from the tangential direction to avoid disturbing the particle flow induced by agitation. Thus, a smooth flow of particles can be obtained.
Methods of binder feeding
- Drop method
- Suitable for rapid granulation, but often resulting in broad particle size distribution
- Spray method
- Time consuming, but with uniform binder dispersion. Combined use with drying air enables flexible particle designing.
